Tatyahna costello

Hi my name is Tatyahna but I also go by Rox(they/all). Professionally I am a therapist, energy healer, and activist. I am also the co-founder of @the_lovepractice a healing space for Black, brown, queer, and disabled folks. Creatively I write poetry, create fiction stories, make collages and animations, designing outfits with hopes to explore sculpting and abstract painting soon. I am passionate about Black, queer, trans, and disabled folks experiencing true peace and ease in this world and engaging both politically and on a micro level in the healing and remembrance of Blackness in all of its glory. With Blackness as the blueprint for a lot of what this world is, I live to continue to create and encourage creation/life.

I choose to volunteer with Soul Fly Club because I was inspired by the work that was being done and try to dedicate my free time being in community with other Black folks as much as possible. I want to help bring this space to even more life because truly I think anywhere Black people gather, magic is the outcome.

Community and creativity feels like breath, energy, life, and purpose. I think we are meant to be in community and we are meant to create. When we can return back to both of these things, the closer to liberation we are and will be.

My volunteer role will be through Social Media and Event Support where I hope to help with guest hospitality, event set-up/breakdown, and community event creation as well as studio liaison where I hope to help with welcoming folks in, assisting with workshops, and community engagement.
