Hello! My Name is Semaj Johnson, and I am creatively a collage Artist. I’ve been doing it 4 to 5 years at this point. I started cutting up comic books I had, to Polaroids, and finally to my own assortment of books I’ve collected over the years. With each college, I try to push myself and really aim to make something that’s distinct! And honestly, that’s my main passion.

The reason I chose to volunteer as event support and studio liaison with Soul Fly Club is because I believe revolution is something that is inevitable and is something that starts small, childishly creative, and overall, with community. Harlem renaissance is THE example of revolution from intellectually and culturally, spiritually, and all the above. As black people, systems crushing down on heads isn’t new, and without any outlet, we would be farther scattered and unrepresented. Besides, who else knows revolution more than us?
