What’s up !! My name is Assata Naeemah my pronouns are They/Them and I’m an interdisciplinary artist, community member, and lover of life and chill vibes from Mt. Airy. Creatively and professionally I make analog and fiber collages using mixed media materials in addition to shooting 35mm film photography. I also work retail for a designer/silversmith at Amazulu in Reading Terminal. During my free time I like to enjoy nature, listen to music, think about making art, hang with friends, eat, and most of all bask in solitude. I started volunteering with SoulFly Club because as a Black queer creative in Germantown I wanted to meet new people and get in touch creatively with like minds in my neighborhood. I wanted to open myself up to opportunities that may align with me while being a helping hand in my community because it’s important to me that I’m able to physically show up and represent and artistically represent in ways the community has for me and ways I thought about growing up.
