Who We Are

Our Story

Soul Fly Club is a Philadelphia-based studio, showroom, + community-centered space rooted in Black diasporic art + creative practice, with programming that extends beyond the city through travel and collaboration. Founded by Doriana Diaz, the Club was created to offer intentional space for artists—emerging, returning, + established—to explore their work, share ideas, + build meaningful relationships through collective engagement.

What began as a vision for gathering has grown into a developing ecosystem—one that holds space for experimentation, dialogue, and the unfolding of artistic identity across place and time.

Our Approach

Soul Fly Club operates through visual programming and artist-led methodologies that center process, experimentation, and shared knowledge. Workshops, intimate gatherings, exhibitions, and collaborative sessions are not simply events, but living sites of exchange—where artists and participants engage in making, reflection, and dialogue.

Grounded in Black + queer diasporic praxis, our programming honors lineage, memory, and the evolving nature of artistic expression. We view art as both practice + process—something to be built, questioned, + experienced collectively.

Our Values

Soul Fly Club is shaped by a grassroots organizing approach that prioritizes accessibility, community input, + mutual support. We believe in creating space that is responsive, artist-centered, + rooted in care.

We value:

  • Collective practice over individualism

  • Process as much as outcome

  • Accessibility and openness in creative spaces

  • Lineage and memory as foundations for new work

  • Collaboration and resource-sharing as tools for sustainability

Through these values, Soul Fly Club functions as both a platform and a resource—supporting artists in presenting their work, leading programming, + bringing their own visions to life. Rooted in Philadelphia yet in motion, the Club is committed to nurturing a creative community that is expansive, intentional, + enduring.
